How We Assess Pearl Quality
Our quality grades are a practical sourcing guide for comparing pearls within the same product type and size. We assess luster, surface condition, shape, consistency across a strand or lot, and color or overtone.
What the Grades Mean
- 5A — selected for very strong luster, cleaner surfaces, and the most consistent matching available for that product.
- 4A — selected for strong luster, good surface appearance, and reliable matching for refined jewelry designs.
- 3A+ — a balanced selection between 3A and 4A, with good visual value for the product type.
- 3A — a value-focused selection with natural surface and shape variation appropriate to the product type.
Natural Variation and Matching
Grades are relative to the same pearl type, size, and lot; they are not an industry-wide certification. Natural freshwater pearls can vary slightly between batches. Please use the product photos and specifications for the exact offering. For matching, video, or special-quality requests, contact us before ordering.
